Finally! We're done our first EP, entitled "Slow the Surroundings". The CD was mixed by TJ Lipple at Inner Ear Studios in Arlingon, and will be mastered this weekend by Chad Clark. We put four of the unmastered tracks up on our MySpace for your listening pleasure. Check them out and let us know what you think. We'll post the final track listing and artwork here once that's all ready.

Now that we're done with the recording, it's time once again to play some shows... and we've got a great one lined up to start us off. We'll be playing on March 1st at the Black Cat with our friends, Metal Hearts. We'll post details about more shows as we set them up... hope to see you at one soon!

Hello everyone. We just wanted to let you know that we are very close to finishing our EP. We are planning on finishing the recording up in the next week or so and plan to have the disc mixed and mastered soon afterwards. So for all of those that have been waiting... the wait is almost over. (We will also be playing shows again very soon... maybe even a small tour).

We can hardly wait!

This time we mean it...

I know, I know... we keep saying that the EP is coming and you keep waiting and waiting. But this time we mean it. Seriously. It's important to note that we're not just being slackers. Progress on the EP has been slowed by two things:

(1) our inability to refuse great show opportunities... thanks to the Quiver, Ryan Little, Racetrack, Olivia Mancini and the Spectacles, and Cordova. And thanks to everyone, old faces and new faces, that came to these shows to support us, especially at the Black Cat.

(2) the water-proofing of Sam's basement, home to the recording equipment, the instruments, the litter box, and other junk that had to be moved during demolition... things are slowly being set up and recording will begin again soon. Hopefully we'll have copies of the EP in hand before our next show. More merch should be on the way as well.

After work on the EP is all wrapped up, we'll be booking more shows (perhaps a mini-tour of sorts).

See you soon!

Black Cat, Black Cat!

So we had a great trip up to Pittsburgh this past weekend. We learned from Randy that eating taquitos for breakfast before a long van ride is a bad idea. We also had a chance to hear a waitress say "what can I get yinz?" Pittsburgh is awesome. Playing with The Quiver was awesome.

We'll be playing a second show together on Sunday, August 21st at the Black Cat. This is a big deal for us, so if you've been meaning to come to a show we hope it will be this one. Come early (9:00 pm) so you can catch both bands.

Hope to see you there.

As always, thanks for the support.

Thanks to all of you who came out to see us play at College Perk. We had a great time. Thanks also to Brice Woodall for playing a fantastic set before us, and Nan Irick for setting up the show.

For now it's back to the basement to write new songs and to work on our EP. Stay Tuned.

Thanks to Deane and Dan of The Tasty Habits for inviting us to play a WMUC Radio show. We had a great time! Also thanks to Deane for these cool photos, to the other great bands, and to everyone that showed up to watch (especially Ginevra, for hanging out with us all night).

We hope everyone can come out this Saturday (5/7) for the Make-Out Party. Come early... we'll be going on first!

It's always fun to load our gear into the van and head out to a local club, but it was really nice to drive out of town for a change. Thanks to everyone that came out to the Fredericksburg shows and all the great bands we played with. Special thanks to Pash and .heretoday. for bringing us down there.

BACK TO THE BASEMENT...

What's next? Well, we're heading back to the basement to record a demo and write some new material. Hopefully we'll have something on disc soon and into your hands. Our next show is at the Galaxy Hut in Arlington with Eyes Like Knives, and it's FREE (spend your hard-earned cash on the rootbeer instead... it's good there).

The merch section is (finally) up. Check it out here.

Well, the benefit show is behind us and it was a huge success. All the bands were great, and a lot of money was raised for a great cause. Many thanks to everyone who helped plan this thing, and everyone that came out to watch. We've never seen DC9 so crowded!

Getting out of town... we're getting in the van and heading for our first out-of-town show. On Saturday 3/19/2005 we'll be in Fredericksburg VA playing at the Colonial Tavern. We'll be joined by .heretoday. and Idle Ride.

We'll be back at DC9 on 3/22/2005 for a show with Early Day Miners and Cartel.

(More details on the Shows page)

We also have T-shirts and stickers available. We'll put up pictures and a way to order them online soon. For now you can email us or come out to a show.

Sorry we haven't updated our site in a while, our individual lives have gotten in the way of all of our extra curricular activities... but now we are back on track. We have two shows coming up that we're really excited about. The first show is on March 2nd with The Metal Hearts and .heretoday.. The second show is March 5th with a whole slew of other bands to support the tsunami relief efforts. Check out the poster for the benefit show. The Shows page has more information about both shows.

We also have T-shirts and stickers available. We'll put up pictures and a way to order them online soon. For now you can email us or come out to a show. At the March 5th show, we'll be donating 100% of the proceeds to help the cause.

We've also posted two live video clips in the Media section for your viewing pleasure.

This past month has been a very busy and exciting time for us. We played our first three shows, and were fortunate to play with some great bands like Semaphore and Exit Clov. We also had a blast playing Art-o-matic this year. Art-o-matic runs until December 5th, so if you haven't had a chance to go you've still got time. There is a ton of great music and art to be seen.

We've also just revamped our website. You'll now find some photos and audio clips in the Media section. Video will be coming soon. We're working on recording some more music, so stay tuned. If you want us to keep you posted, just fill in the form on this page to sign up for our mailing list.

So, have a look around the new site...we hope you enjoy it!
Feel free to let us know what you think.
